The Program

Giving Back to Those Who Serve

Every year, Stoneridge Decks & Outdoor Living builds two free custom composite decks for veterans or active duty military families in our community. No strings attached. No catch. Just our way of saying thank you to the men and women who serve.

Since launching the program, we have donated custom composite decks to military families across the Shenandoah Valley, giving them an outdoor space to come home to. Each project receives the same premium materials, engineering, and craftsmanship we put into every Stoneridge build.

Know a veteran or active duty service member who deserves a new deck? Nominate them below.

Latest Build

The Bateman Family, Frederick County

Our most recent Decks for Vets build was completed in February 2026 at the Frederick County home of Ryan and Jessica Bateman and their daughter, Madison. Ryan is an active duty U.S. Army soldier who recently returned home after a year long deployment to the Middle East.

The Bateman family received a full custom composite deck with aluminum railing, stairs, and a dedicated outdoor dining and grilling area. The project was designed, permitted, and built entirely by our Winchester crew at no cost to the family.

Couldn’t have done it for a more deserving veteran family. Ryan and his family are awesome!

2

We Select

Our team reviews nominations and selects two families per year. We consider service history, family need, and property suitability.

3

We Build

We design, permit, and build a full custom composite deck at no cost. Same materials, same quality, same warranty as every Stoneridge project.
